In the Beginning …
Our Fiji brotherhood from 1906, only four years after our charter was issued at the Purdue.
Speedball Dominance
Remember the speedball days? This photo from 1933 shows the winning Phi Gamma Delta IM speedball team. Speedball is a combination of soccer and handball.
Bruiser
In the 1951 edition of the Debris explains, "Bruiser, the Phi Gam's only claim to fame, is shown in a political caucus concerning a forthcoming election."
Fiji Island
Preparations underway for Fiji Island (1959).
All Aboard for Fiji Island
Another image from 1959. As the Debris states that year, “A tractor-pulled wagon toured the campus housing units to pick up all dates for the biennial Fiji Island Party.”
Our Moms
“After a busy day, the Phi Gamma Delta brothers offer a Saturday night serenade to their mothers before they retire for the night.” So who exactly was retiring for the night? The moms or the undergrads?
At the Fashion Forefront in the ’70s!
This stylish group from 1974 was clearly at the forefront of the fashion movement of the ’70s.
Best Friends for Life
The 1989 Debris describes the below photo this way: "Victimizing an unsuspecting brother, these FJIJs decide to monkey pile on top of him during his nap." What practical jokes and antics were you part of during your undergrad days at Phi Gamma Delta?
The Annual Run
All Phi Gamma Delta brothers understand the importance of our philanthropic events. Here, in this photo from 1994, brothers participated in their annual Run for Leukemia on the Friday before the Old Oaken Bucket game. Specifically, Brother Erik Fleming ’96 receives the pass from the Boiler’s Head Coach Jim Colletto and takes off on the road to Bloomington.
