Don Albert '55 Inducted into Purdue Hall of Fame
Coming to Purdue from Alliance, Ohio, Albert won four letters in golf (1952-55), serving as captain of the undefeated 1955 squad. In his career, teams went 58-13 in duals and 36-4 in invitationals. Purdue was third in the 1952 NCAA championships and won the Big Ten Title in 1953 and 1955. He won the 1953 and 1954 Big Ten individual championship, becoming Purdue’s second All-American golfer. He played in the 1953 U.S. Open and many PGA events. He won military tournaments and many club, district, and state titles, and is in the Ohio Golf Hall of Fame. He lives in Columbus, Ohio.
