The following items of business were discussed.

The minutes of last year's meeting were approved as well at the financial report for last year.

A summary of past and future summer maintenance was given. Last summer saw the completion of a three-year project to install new walls, ceilings, light fixtures, carpet, oak crown molding, baseboards, doors and door trim as well as electronic combination locks for all rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors. Plans for this summer are to completely remodel both bathrooms using the same footprint but gutting to the studs and installing modern building materials and fixtures.

Purple Legionnaire Bill Miller '96 gave a report outlining the plans to revise the Board of Chapter Advisors in order to provide more guidance to the undergraduate chapter. There are opportunities for interested graduate brothers to advise all areas of chapter operations. Immediate needs are in the area of graduate relations which the chapter is emphasizing this year. Particular needs are for advisors for the Boilermaker Fiji, as well as establishing a graduate brother as co-chairman for Pig Dinner. It is hoped that BCA members who become familiar with chapter operations will be a source of future House Corporation members as current members terms expire. Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to Lambda Iota. If interested, please contact Bill Miller at This email address is being protected from spambots. The House Corporation also agreed to conduct a feasibility study of the chapter house to look into future needs in order to remain competitive with other fraternity chapters on campus who have extensively remodeled or have built new chapter houses. The study was proposed by Chuck Armstrong '64 and Bob Swinehart '65. Bob Swinehart will be in charge of the feasibility study, which will be started this school year.

The future location for Pig Dinner was discussed in view of the fact that the cost to the chapter for the dinner is much greater since we began using the Ross-Ade Pavilions rather than the chapter house. It was the consensus that the nearby location, quality of the venue and food as well as having the chapter house appear in its familiar set up outweigh the additional cost we must charge in the future. Another factor is the plan to build future attendance to a level which can't be accommodated in the chapter house. The likely cost for future Pig Dinners will be $75.00.
