Song from 1948 discovered in the Phi Gam Archives
We recently stumbled upon a funny bit of history that might interest some of the more musically-oriented graduates in our group. "My Phi Gam Girl" was a song suggested by the Lambda Iota chapter at Purdue University. The lyrics and music were created by Roy Ingraham and the original take was from July 27, 1948 sung by Bart Matheson. The Music Studio Recording Studios in Hollywood, California produced this vinyl record. The record is a 78 rpm. This song is the only recording on the record. It is not believed that Bart Matheson was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Roy Ingraham was a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and was not a member of Phi Gamma Delta.
