Some Thoughts On Why We Still Give
Lambda Iota would like to ask that all of our graduate members consider giving back to the Annual Fund this year and come together to keep the program alive. As a reminder, the Annual Fund runs from September 1 through August 31 each year, and supports the cost of graduate communications and events, house renovations, and Chapter resources on a yearly basis. We ask that in your charitable considerations this year that you please, think about including your FIJI Brothers in your giving routine.
Have you ever asked yourself why you give? Do you believe in affording the next generation of young men the same experience you had with FIJI? Here are some reasons we collected from past surveys of other FIJI members from around the country about why their experience was so important to them and their lives after college:
"The brotherhood that we shared was extremely meaningful in the post WWII era. Many of us have stayed in touch over the past almost 60 yrs. In fact, many of get together every May for a reunion that is very meaningful to us. I support the annual fund in hopes that Phi Gamma Delta will be as important to the young men coming along as it has been for me."
"35 years ago I pledged PGD. I always tried to give money as I remember we were a very young chapter and financing was always a problem. I have seen good and bad things in the chapter but always believed in the final results that were being tried to achieve. These days when I see an undergraduate brotherhood I confirm my original ideals that the chapter does mold boys to men and the achieve the greater good. I will continue with my support and my donations."
"I had a great four years at the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity House. Some of my best friends for a lifetime I met there. Sadly many are gone now, but the great memories linger on and always will. Some of us still get together each year for a reunion in Florida."
"The experiences and the friends made while a member of Phi Gamma Delta were the best parts of my four years at college. It allowed me to meet people and do things that I would never have been able to do otherwise. It exposed me to various campus activities and I became much more involved in campus life than I would have. These memories and friendships are why I support the annual drive. I wish I could do more than I am currently able to do."
