What is your fondest memory of being part of Phi Gamma Delta
- Comradery. Attending sporting events together. Serenades. House parties.

- The brotherhood and friendships made, the house, being a part of something that my grandfathers were both a part of.
- Life-long friendships with my classmates
- My fondest memories are ongoing. It is the lifelong friendships that still stay strong today.
What are the top 3 things you gained from your Phi Gamma Delta experience?
- Observed and learned leadership skills. Tolerance of others.
- Friendship....Fellowship....Foundation for life
- Brotherhood for life, became more social - extroverted, learned how to present myself
- I learned how the hard work of others could motivate me to work harder (at least from a school standpoint), lifelong friendships, and unbelievable college memories.
- Leadership opportunities and skills. Good manners and common sense behaviors. Growth of my perspectives about the world and its people around me, having grown up in a small town.
- Maturity, strong relationships, my wife!
How would your life be different today if you had never joined Phi Gamma Delta?
- I would not have a number of life-long friends that I currently have.
- Totally different...It gave me a foundation...for life...
- Less successful
- I would be missing out on a lot of great friendships that I would have never known.
- Being a Phi Gam led to the following work-life experience. A summer internship my senior year at a major corporation came about over a Pig Dinner discussion with a Purdue PGD member. After grad school and completion of my 4-year commitment in the USAF, this same PGD member offered me a full-time job which led to my nearly 30-year career with the company where my internship started. That career led to numerous new opportunities and experiences not contemplated at the time of completing my undergraduate engineering degree and Krannert MSIA degree.
- I would not be as successful in life, business, and relationships. Also, I would not be as happy.

- Teaching my fiftieth anniversary...coming in future
- After 35 years in business, I closed my company that was in the business of selling led displays for transportation and industrial applications.
- I got married on 10/4/2018 to Lindsay O'Bannon, we are having our first child that is due on 7/3/2019, we moved from San Francisco to Jensen Beach, FL at the end of February 2019 where I started a commercial general contracting company called AEgen Construction.
- Since retiring from the corporate world in 1997 and moving to beautiful Northern Michigan, my wife and I purchased and operated Americana Gallery in downtown Traverse City for 15 years (yes, we both flunked retirement). Our philosophy has always been to "give back". I served on the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy Board of Directors for 10 years, then on the "Campaign for Generations" cabinet to raise nearly $72M for land preservation, and now on the Fund Development Committee to complete this campaign. In 2016 I joined Northern Michigan Angels, an investment group focused on investing in startup businesses to help grow the N. Michigan economy. I am currently serving on the board of this group and leading our promotion efforts. Most important of all is to enjoy life each day and frequently engaging with our two adult children and four grandchildren. Life is good!
As a graduate member association, we strive to keep you connected with the Lambda Iota chapter long after graduation. What could we do to encourage you to become more active in the association? Perhaps by hosting more fun events? Any other advice?

- I know it is no excuse, but I have been very busy the past few years, but now that I have moved to a slower-paced town and am starting to settle in, I would love to participate in graduate member events.
- Provide updates on how Lamda Iota is implementing policies to prevent hazing. Pledge programs should be meaningful and a growth experience with no hazing whatsoever! Make available to all Lamda Iota members the name, address and phone number of us who live in Michigan north of U.S. 10 and west of I-75.
