The annual meeting of the Alpha Graduate Chapter was held in conjunction with the House Corporation meeting at 2:00 p. m. prior to Pig Dinner Saturday, February 23, 2013.
Officers elected for the upcoming year are as follows:
President, John Sorensen (Illinois Wesleyan '68 and Indiana '68)
Vice President, Jack Goris '76
Treasurer, Grant Fischer '05
Secretary, John Barbee '98
*Board members and expiration terms are the same as the House Corporation
Other highlights include:
John outlined graduate chapter activities which include dinner meetings with the pledge class, new leadership and seniors near graduation. There is a family picnic in the summer as well.
Monthly meetings are held the first Friday of each month at Spurlock's restaurant on Main Street in Lafayette. Everyone is welcome to attend the monthly meetings.
An announcement was also made concerning the 2014 Ekklesia, which is to be held in Indianapolis July 24-27 2014.
John made a report about his duties as Section Chief for the chapters at Ball State, Purdue and Wabash.
The Alpha Graduate Chapter was founded in 1868, one year prior to the founding of Purdue University in 1869.
